The day is approaching and we will soon be in the midst of creating a glorious community beacon in the form of a bright, colorful Sunflower painted on the intersection of SE 33rd and SE Yamhill St. Since the year 2000 this annual event has brought many people together from the local neighborhood area and really from all over the city as well. The day of the event will be Saturday, May 26th.
This year we will be incorporating new projects to the Sunnyside Piazza as we move forward on developing a space that is welcoming, supportive of local needs and issues, and ultimately builds and strengthens the cohesive bonds of community living. Through this project we can inspire and engage the people who live in the area to take active roles in creating a safe and inviting area to call our neighborhood.
